Our School Council is facilitated by Miss Smythe.
It meets every two weeks and is made up of two class representatives from Year 1 to Year 4. The children are elected by their class and wear their School Council Badges with pride. The School Council gives the children a voice so that they are able to play a part in making decisions on certain aspects of school life.
Each term the councillors organise a fund raising event for the whole school. After discussion with their classes they decide what the money raised will be spent on. They also organise the fund raising for a national charity such as Children In Need or Comic Relief as well as raising money for the school. The school council have successfully organised a range of fundraising events such as the 'January Book Sale', '4K in 4 Days', 'Children's mini fete', 'MacMillan Coffee Afternoon' and the 'Big Night In' for the children to enjoy. During the meetings children also have the opportunity to bring any matters that are causing the children concern to the attention of the staff.
We are always looking for new ideas and so, we have a suggestion box for any ideas from children and parents. This can be found in the main reception area.
We are incredibly proud of our school council and thank them for their commitment.
